PRACTICE TIPS

TO HOME PAGE

Practise the things you specifically want to improve in your game.
The time you get to practise is important and needs to be used constructively.
Try these tips below and see if your game improves.

beating Todd Woodbridge 7/6,6/4

Consistency - rallying for a period of time with limited errors. Choose simple shots to repeat over and over, gradually improving the shots.
Goal: Improved concentration, understanding shot selection, confidence to rally.

First and Second serves - practise your serving in the order you would use it in a match.
Goal: To create a better feel for the two different types of serves, teaching yourself the different process required for each serve type.

Practice Matches - play lots of sets in practise as it helps you get used to changing tactics and trying things you have learnt in your coaching lesson.
Goal: To make match play something you do regularly and become relaxed at doing.

Specific shots and technique - pick a stroke or situation that gives you trouble in a match and specifically practise that situation until it improves.
Goal: To provide feedback for further improvement and will help you explain your problems at your next coaching session.
